Anything that causes immense pain can trigger PTSD. If the romance was important, the answer is probably "Yes".
Usually the trauma is more of a situation over which the victim had no control: sexual abuse, physical attack, etc. If the romance in question had any type of abuse associated with it or the person ending the romance did so in an unnecessarily cruel and hateful manner then it's possible it could create PTSD.

No. PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) is caused by a MAJOR life-changing event, such as witnessing a murder, or being involved in a disaster. What you may be experiencing is acute depression or anxiety. If you feel like hurting yourself, I would suggest going to your local hospital, where counselors are available to speak to. If it is not quite to that point and you are still upset after time, medication may assist you, such as zoloft or alprazolam (xanax). Good luck to you.
