US =Baking Soda.
UK=either Bicarbonate of Soda or Sodum Bicarbonate, (just to keep you guessing)
We also have Baking Powder, which is a mix of acid & alkali, genarally Bicarb. & Tartaric Acid, also known as Cream of Tartar.
(who names this stuff & why so many variables?)

Put your search engine to use and read up on it, so you'll know what differences there may be and if there are more than one type of either.
