You're going to have to find a way to keep kitty out of the dogs food.
Dog food doesn't have all the nutrients in it that cats need.
Since it's a special diet food that's another big reason you have to stop kitty from eating it.
Once the dog is done eating put their bowl away so kitty is tempted.

This is relatively common. Cats and dogs are attracted to food that has a strong odor to it (I.e. foods with a tuna scent). If your dog food has a strong odor than your cat will want to eat it. However I wouldn't encourage this or allow it to happen to the best of my ability. Cats require two things that are either not in dog food at all or in too small of an amount: protein and an amino acid called taurine.

Taurine (which is only found in trace amount in dog food)deficiency can be very serious in cats and can lead to eye problems (such as ocular lesions), reproduction problems, heart problems (such as cardiomyopathy), and decreased kitten growth. Dog food has, on average, between 22% and 26% protein (dry food), whereas cat food should have greater than (or equal to) 28% (no less than 30% for kittens and lactating females). Cats not eating foods that have the proper amount of protein will have an unthrifty appearance (dull coat, "dandruffy," sickly appearance) and act lethargic (weak).

When you see you cats munching on your dogs food, simply pick him/her up and carry him/her to their pet food. If after repeated efforts this doesn't seem to work, try putting some cat treats or a small amount of tuna or canned salmon (just enough to entice the cat) over the dry food; then gradually remove with each feeding the treats or fish until there is only the dry food.

Maybe she likes having a different taste of food. Yea, she is probably needing some nutrient in the dog food. My cats do the same thing when I feed my dog. They even try to eat the big dog treats. Maybe she is just showing the dog that she can have its food if she chooses.

Don't let her eat dog food at all, The vitamins for cats are put into cat food for cats only. They will get sick if they eat dog food.

Maybe she is craving some type of nutrient that is in the dog food, that she isn't getting in her food. Or, maybe she just likes the taste of the dog food better.
