Do you enter DEP and then take the ASVAB or take the ASVAB and then enter DEP?

I ask this because I was wondering if I enter DEP and at some point decide I want to pursue a different Air Force job, can I retake my asvab and see if I qualify for a different job?

If you haven't already went to meps then look at some careers you want and choose the aptitude (Mechanical, Administrative, General, Electronic) that gives u any of those jobs you qualify by your test scores and medical examination. You choose which you want in Basic Training

My son is in the same position. Did very well on his ASVAB and has gone to MEPS and will ship out to San Antonio in October. He was asked to select 5 jobs of which only maybe 2 he would like. Still waiting to hear from the recruiter. He was told he had 1 year from the day he went to MEPS to select a job which was March 26th.

You take your ASVAB and go to MEPS before you're in the DEP program.

You job is chosen by you based upon those positions made available to you by your written test scores. As for the delayed entry program, it is simply a program where you enlist and show up for active duty at a later date.
