It could mean you are a little psychotic and scary, as in Norman Bates from Psycho?

There are two way's you can take this question. First , well who is the one saying this to you? A teenage high school guy? Well, just say the words fast enough and you will know what he is trying to say. He thinks he is being funny. But we know he's just being stupid. Or "Mister Bates" can refer to one of the greatest hotel scary movies ever made." Physco" About man with a split personality who killed his mother & kept her body in her bedroom & he would killed everyone that stayed at the hotel. A Physco! So as to your question, no "Mister Bates" has nothing to do with confidence. And yeah I would say more like. Slang.

Could be a reference to Norman Bates in the movie psycho. Or a very imature way to imply some one masterbates alot.
