I have headlice for so long my little brother got them from school and he passed them onto me and i cannt get rid of them and ive just given up, they are driving me insane and i dont wanna pass them onto anyone else, they always come back and have been for the last two years, what do i do?
How can i get them out of very long hair?
Will the chemicals in the treatments strip the colour out of my hair?
How can i stop them from coming back again and again?

I was using the chemicals but after awhile they just stopped working and i can never get all of the eggs out because with my long hair its impossible without ripping half of it out and i refuse to cut my hair, Any advice is much appreciated

poor you ! there is no other way than use special treatment,
shampoo, spray and comb to get rid of the beasts!
you have to follow the indications on the product, for as long as indicated (3 about weeks as far as I remember) .
I do not think that it will strip color more than a regular shampoo, but more than a color shampoo. Anyhow you're left with no choice. you can not prevent them from coming back if someone around you doesn't do the therapy, only for yourself by doing the whole cycle meaning going trough the entire procedure until the last eggs are removed...good luck...:-)

Why don't you use the chemicals? Wash all of your bedding, clothes, etc. If the color comes out, recolor your hair in a few days. You're probably washing your hair too much. Lice love clean hair, strange isn't it? Wash your hair every other day.
