There are so many comtridictions in it and lies, so why believe in something that is flat out a big fat lie.

Because people deny that God in the beginning created everything, they believe in those scientists who said so, with their hypothesis and all. But I truly believe that God created all of us, and you're right, that evolution thing is a big fat lie, I totally agree with you!

OnFireForJesus ... I don't entirely agree. By the way, belief in evolution does NOT automatically exclude belief in Creationism. I, for one, do believe there is evidence of species evolving, but I also believe in Creationism.

Here's why . . . I DO believe there is evolution. However, the fact that life forms can evolve does not explain the ORIGINS of life. "Why is there ANYthing," I keep asking myself.

I have some other points, too. While I don't expect to convince anyone, I hope I can help to promote more thoughts about the subject. Let me continue with my points . . .

I've wondered ... With ALLLL the many different life forms we have on Earth, how is it that nothing has yet evolved with two sets of eyes ... one set pointing forward and the other set backwards. It seems that this form/feature might have developed in a species by now AND with the excellent defense abilities provided by this configuration of its eyes, SURELY some life forms would have survived that have a set of eyes that point backwards too. Yes? No?

Again, let's continue discussing the eyes. I've wondered why all life forms on Earth that have eyes have just two. It's never one, never three ... It's always two. That seems odd to me and suggests to me that we might be the product of a design, not a series of a billion evolutionary accidents.

Additionally, why are the eyes always horizontally situated? Couldn't something have evolved into a two-eyed creature with one eye above the other? Eyes always come in a group of two and they're always horizontally situated, i.e., side-by-side. I find that strange as well if evolution was the sole explanation for all the species.

Lastly, someone with some powerful math skills decided they wanted to calculate the likelihood of DNA forming accidentally from the "primordial soup," as they call it, that covered Earth before life forms began to appear.

I certainly cannot remember the number. But a team of mathematicians determined that the odds of life beginning by accident were like a 1 (one) followed by thirty zeros to one.

Knowing that most people would not be able to appreciate the enormity of those odds, they "translated" it this way. They said take a metal scrap yard and have a tornado go barreling through it. After all the scrap metal is banged, slammed together, and tossed into the air, imagine the odds of all the metal falling back to Earth and forming a functioning Boeing 747!!!

I get dizzy just trying to imagine this. That's like the old story about taking all the parts of a time piece (watch), placing them into a container, and beginning to shake ... and keep on shaking until ALL the parts happen to fall into place to form a working watch.

As I said, I've probably convinced no one, but I think it's worth thinking about ... at least for a few moments.

"Why do so many people believe in evolution?" It has something to do with all of the evidence to support it.

"There are so many comtridictions in it and lies, so why believe in something that is flat out a big fat lie." I ask the same thing about the bible.

Oh wow, I wonder what lies/contradictions you've heard? Being a writer, I have to do a lot of online research. Evolution, as defined by wikipedia.org is:

In biology, evolution is the change in the inherited characteristics, or traits of a population of organisms. Heritable traits are encoded in the genetic material of an organism (usually DNA); changes in this genetic material (mutation) and the subsequent spread of these changes in the population drives evolution.

I wonder if you are speaking in terms of how evolution conflicts with a particular religon? Because...and I'm certainly not trying to be insensitive or assuming here...a lot more contradicting theories have been called upon within all brackets of religon. Hence why there are so many various sects of each of the major religons, and so on.

Perhaps you could be a bit clearer with your question? As far as I know, you actually haven't read anything on the subject at all. I hope that is not true? I wonder what lies/contradictions you are speaking of, or if you are just assuming or something?

Oh, and one more thing? Your question has terrible grammar. Maybe you are just really young?

i don't see contradictions and lies. i see exploring and learning and re-learning.
the earth changes and so does life on it. new species are continually being discover and species that we know of are becoming extinct.
i don't see 100 percent proof that man evolved from ape. (still too many missing links.) similar does not make it the same.
choosing to believe that God created, and the teachings of Christ to become a better person has opened a pathway that
i have experienced like no other, and yes there have been and will be hard periods to endure but my faith has seen me thru them and it will in those periods to come.
what it all comes down to is choice. demeaning others for the way they choose to believe is not a good choice. forcing your beliefs on another is not a good choice. actions cause reactions. so when people get indignant & beligerment it makes for a negative reaction. try to keep an open mind on how another chooses to believe. you don't have to agree but it helps you to become a better person in understanding why others believe as they do.

Your question itself simply demonstrates your ignorance of the subject. Why would professional scientists, whose only objective is to discover the truth about the natural world, lie about anything?? And don't you think that highly trained experts in the field might notice any contradictions they discovered? Here's s site where you can get a little basic information, so you will at least have some sense of what you are talking about. But I suspect that facts are the last thing you want to see.

Evolution doesn't require belief, evolution is based on research and evidence and that is what makes it acceptable to so many of us,so far it evolution has not been successfully challenged and it appears to be the best explanation for how life on this planet developed in all it's amazing diversity.

It's our right to try to find out. same is true with the bible or any other theory that is thrown our way. Instead of jumping at the first idea that comes along (which is why so many are lost)--we have to take the time to figure out what seems right and how it fits into our life. that's really what it's all about. what fits a person's lifestyle and views and morals - it's like a puzzle --and we're all different pieces raised differently. we have to find our fit. why knock others belief system? I don't.

What contradictions?

What lies?

Evolution is a working theory and so far, very proven.

And how can you compare the "lies" to the lies that the King James version of the bible touts?

Of course, non-evolutionists HATE to read real history, prefering to base their beliefs on a couple thousand years of political containment of the masses.

I think it would be more helpful if you explained the contradictions you know of. While research is far from complete, it has proven to be consistent with the evidence. This is why we believe it. And it would be better to avoid slander in your questions. People might think you're just ranting and not actually searching for an answer.
