Christians have conflicting answers because of the Reformation in which Martin Luther gave everyone the authority to interpret diviine scripture for the masses. So many employ our societal "I'm okay you're okay" mentality to God and assume he thinks like us.

And we have no answer for WHY God does set up this whole scenerio...because we are not God.

I won’t even try to explain why there are so many interpretations. I don’t even understand why some people interpret without even understanding the meaning of the words they are using to base their interpretations. I think others only repeat certain things they have heard from preachers but don’t study scripture for themselves.

As to why God set all this up - I don’t think any human is capable of knowing, but from what we can learn from the teaching of Jesus and from our own experience with the Holy Spirit, the answer certainly has to do with love.

There are several, SEVERAL branches of Christianity, plus it is good when a religion has conflicting answers because it means that people are still growing in their faith, still challenging, still caring about what they say they stand for.
By the way, this is true for any major religion, not just Christians. It's kind of like asking, "Why do people think differently?

Some people say that there are thousands of ways to interpret the Bible, when, in actuality, there are only two. One way is allegorical, which brings about a wide range of interpretations. The other is "normal" which takes into account the grammatical-historical context of a passage, figures of speech, etc.

For instance, a figure of speech poorly translated from the KJV is where Paul says that his love comes from the "bowels of Jesus Christ." This was a figure of speech used of a person's affection. So Bible's translate, from the affection of Jesus Christ.

Christian interpretation when approached from a literal-grammatical-historical standpoint does not vary much. It is when allegorizing takes place that variation comes in.

Friend, I do have the answer why God set up everything, Do you really want this Christian to explain everything in detail to you, if you do, get all the coffee you want because it will take at least 6 months to even begin to touch the surface of what is in the bible, & everything I will say I will have scriptures to back it up.

Those who lean unto there own understanding of scripture are leading others astray and blinded by their "pride!" But this has to occur for the Kingdom of God is coming to this earth and establish His way as the only way.

Pride is man's downfall. The End of the circle of man's self rule will be the beginning of Christ's Kingdom but that "pride" must be broken first!

Considering that there is no consensus on how to interpret the bible...is it literal, figurative, or a blend of both...it's impossible to get a clear message from the book. Apply the stories against what we know about the real world (meaning secular, not spiritual), and it gets even more muddled.

Ask any two people ( not Christians) to write an essay about any book (not he Bible) and you may be surprised to find that they will have different things to say about what they have read. Give people a break! To be human is it at times make mistakes. I am not perfect and I also am sure that you are not perfect either.

many people take the word and interrupt it the way they want...it does not always right though...i think the most important thing is just to believe in the lord jesus christ and do the best we can in our lives to be good and moral people...we all sin and come short of the glory of god...many religions and they have different beliefs on some things....we should read the word and study it for ourself and then god will let us know how he wants us to live...he is real in our souls if we seek him and believe in him..............
