My dad started using it, so I tried it as well. It really seems overly sticky to me, somewhat of an over kill. One thing for sure it holds the grip tight, but somewhat harder to uses because of the stickyness. What other tapes are out there that will provide the same holding power as stukontapes tiger grip????

Sorry, I've never seen or heard of Tiger Grip. Looked for it on the internet, no find.

I use "standard" grip tape from Golfsmith. It's easy to use, inexpensive and works great.

Hi Sujin,
I work at one of the 67 Golf ETC. locations, and we carry this tape. Our club repair guy swears by it, he says it has a superior grip and he also prefers it, because where he does the re-gripping there is not much ventilation and solvents that he used to use gave him headaches. I am no expert, but I do know that we sell and awful lot of Tiger Grip and our club repair guy will never go back to solvent, he only uses soap and water now.
I am sure everyone else is right and feel just as strongly about the tapes they prefer, and never having used any of the products, I go on what our in house expert tells me.
Good Luck and I hope you find the answer your looking for.

Hello Sujin,
The Tiger grip tape is the second generation of golf grip tape offered by Stukontapes. Their first being Gorilla grip; like gorilla grip, tiger grip is a water activated grip tape that can be also activated with mineral spirits. Its been my experience that if you use solvents to activate, the tape becomes very tacky like you mentioned. Try a soap and water solution instead of solvents but allow more curing time.

Great question Sujin.
Sounds like a sales gimmick to me. How much adhesion does one need? I use two-sided masking tape and activate it with a little lighter fluid. It's cheap, effective and comes off easily when you want to re-grip.

I agree with x-15 why make the regrip more of a problem later The "standard stuff" works just fine.
