i was at a party and it was my first time drinking and i went all out. in about 3 hours i consumed about 5oz of bacardi mixed with coke, 2 beers, 2 straight shots of vodka, and a straight shot of whisky. when i got home i could barely walk and kept falling and hitting the wall in the hall. i took a shower (layed in the tub and ran cold water) then layed on the couch and watched tv. then i passed out and 8 hours later i woke up in the hospital. Even after 8 hours my blood alcohol was .18. What i want to know is it normal that i remember everything so clearly. as soon as i woke up in the hospital i knew exactly why i was there and i can remember everything clearly from when i got home to when i passed out. i remember what i watched on tv and what happened and when i got home i knew i need to take a shower and have some tylonol. just thought it was strange because everyone i know who gets drunk says that they cant remember anything

next time try eating so that the alcohol will be absorbed by the food. You were lucky you could have died from alcohol poisoning. Don't do that again.

Some people remember everything in embarrassing detail when they get drunk. My dad and I both have that ability. Neither of us has much use for it now though.

Your problem was mixing your drinks. The mix of different alcohols and the coke in the bacardi plays hell with your insides. It is not usually a hospital matter though. Mind you, the Tylenol was not a smart thing to take. Please do not repeat that if you have more than a couple of drinks. In fact stay off the cold shower immediately after drinking.

As someone who has had his share of binge drinking, here is what worked for me.

Eat a good meal before going out - carbohydrates are good so plenty of potatoes or pasta.
Stick to one type of drink. Many people say don't mix grape and grain and that certainly worked for me.
You will be able to tolerate less alcohol if you mix it with fizzy drinks.
Drink water when you stop drinking alcohol, if you can handle it. If not, drink it next morning.

Of course, it is easy to say not to binge-drink. It does irreperable damage to your brain cells. It can make you ill, as you have realized. However, drinking in moderationis a good skill to learn and the only one that can learn it is you, by bitter experience. I hope you succeed.

Well, from personal experience I have been drunk yet remembered everything. I guess the only time I blacked out was when I got the "bright idea" to drink 15 cans of beer over a period of six hours. I was still drunk the next morning. And even then I remember *most* of what happened, just not everything.

Well firstly you need to slow down on the sauce if you woke up in hospital. You'll learn when you get used to dirnking what your limit is but until then try the one on one off system. Drink one alcoholic drink followed by one non alcoholic one. You can pretend it's got alcohol for your friends but ending up needing a liver transplant won't impress them much.

Secondly it's not that unusual, blackouts vary from person to person, i rarely have blackouts. However, you won't know you've blacked out, you'll just forget things. There won't be a "hole" so much as there'll be stuff you never realised happened, even if what you do remember seems to be the complete night.

some people react to alcohol in different ways an different alcohols will effect you in various ways as well meaning it is not uncommon for you to remember everything. But know that someday you may not be so lucky. People do so many things while they are drunk an can't remember it never good. Please take my advice and never binge drink as I am sure you have been lectured already it could cause severe permanent problems or even death. Be careful and be safe.

If there is not any damaging repercussions whilst he beverages mentioned beers than i do no longer see an issue. yet, eating beer each and every nighttime like it is habit forming and if he starts eating extra suitable than that a nighttime i might have a communicate with him. actually in spite of the shown fact that, people are very distinctive on what we view as a tolerable intake of alcohol than Europeans. They drink alot extra suitable than we do and smoke alot extra besides.
