It depends on the dog and how much energy they have, I used to have a lab pup, a walk did nothing to wear him out he need 6 hours of hard exercise a day(fetching running, swimming) to calm him down so he was not destroying the house

All dogs should have at least 2 walks a day. With young dogs the walks are simply not as long as an adult dog and are really just socialisation and training walks. Of course your dog should be let into the garden several times a day when they need to go to the loo.

Usually two longer walks a day are good, plus being let out as many times as they need to go to the bathroom outside. It really depends on the breed, more energetic dogs could use longer and faster walks. Another alternative is to toss a stick or ball for them instead, which saves you some energy.

20 minute walk is good for most dogs, it expells energy so they aren't hyper so much inside. The more energetic dogs need longer walks.

It varies on what breed the dog is. For example a Maltese will do okay without a yard as it will do most of its exercise indoors.

It depends on the breed. Some breeds need more walking than others do.
