I have a 10 week old Golden Retriever. She has it in her head that going potty is for in my kitchen. The first week I had her she was going outside no problem. Now she decided that she'd rather hold it outside till she comes back in. I've had her outside for at least an half hour. Also I take her out at least every 15 minuter to a half hour. I don't understand what happened. She was going outside to potty. Now she waits till I bring her back in. She holds it alnight in her crate. She has never went potty in her crate. If someone could give me advise on how to change he mind back to potty outside and not inside. Also I only give her the kitchen area the rest of the house is blocked off.

Well she is 10 weeks old and it is not uncommon for them to have a bit of a slide back. She also is a Golden and being that she is of the hunting breed she is now using her nose to explore the outside more and is not constration on going potty. 1/2 an hour may seen a bit long to you but for her it really isn't. I'd giver more time outside and if you see her with her nose to the ground the whole time then she has been tracking all the new smells rather than going potty. I always made it a point to teach my pups that potty time was just that. When you take her out tell her it's potty time and then when you se the tracking setting in just give a slight tug on your lead and say go potty. She will catch on. Don't bring her in until she goes outside. Also I'd give the kitchen floor a good scrub down to really get rid of any of her urine sent left on the floor. If she can still smell it on the floor she is going to continue to pee there.
Crate training is fine as long as you dont use it as a punishment place and you don't keep her in the crate too long. At her age except for overnight she should not be in the crate for more than 3 hours at a time.

Crate training is the best. You need to keep her in the crate until she is trained don't allow her to roam the kitchen. When you take her out of the crate take her straight outside and when you come back in straight back in the crate she will learn a lot quicker that way..Good Luck

Use your good/bad voice and tone. Take her out and talk to her. Happy voice saying "Come on. potty time". If she waits until you bring her back in to go, scold her in your "bad dog" voice and say "NO POTTY" and then take her back out (this should happen quickly, before you have to clean up a mess). When she potties outside, use your "good dog" voice and have a Potty Party praising her for her "GOOD POTTY". This worked with both my dogs. Most dogs want to please their owners.

Clean the area really good and put her bed on top of the spot. Take her out after you feed her. She will learn as she grows older.
