Today is Sunday. That means I will driving the Sunday School bus to pick up children to take them to Sunday School.
I am also the Sunday School Superintendent.
I not only talk the talk, I walk the walk. There are more important things in this life than sef-service. We must help those that are in need, the poor, elderly, handicapped, and the unborn that can't speak for themselves. Great will be your reward in heaven.

I didn't post this to be boasting about what I do for God. It's more of a testamonial of what God has done for me.
God bless each of you that try to do something good for anyone in need. In so doing you are serving God.

I also teach Sunday school and serve on a food help ministry for our area. Let us not boast of ourselves but bring the glory to God, for it is his alone! You make a valid point though.

Oops, sorry. I thought this was the Spirituality section.

But to answer your question, I gave at work, thanks. I work in a small care home. Our residents are people who have acquired a brain injury and need support to help them become independent enough to start living in the community again.

It just happens this Sunday I'm not working, though some I do. So I'm here, relaxing.

And while I appreciate your reassurance about my rewards in Heaven, that doesn't do much for me since I don't believe in it.

I just like it when people leave and say 'Hey, it really helped me being here.' Not that it's anything I've done. It's all their own sheer hard work that gets them where they are. But it helps me realise how lucky I am and to appreciate life all the more. So yes, helping others is great.

Thank you for asking.

I serve the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster by telling everybody about the 8 I'd Really Rather You Didn'ts.

Driving a Church bus or being a superindentant does not make you a Christian, You must be born again. & Then you will follow the Apostles Doctrine, Works saves no one, I too, will be driving to church, But that driving does not save me. God did that in 1970. I too walk & talk the same in church & out of church, & I act the same. Because I was & am Born again. Because I repented of my sins & were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ & received the Baptism of the Holy Ghost.

I used to help out by cleaning the church. It was a rotation. But now I think I have my hands full just taking care of my family. My husband and duaghter are both disabled. So I don't do it anymore. I am thinking about it, as they need someone to do filing, a few hours a week which would be perfect. But I'm still thinking. I don't know yet if it is what God wants for my life.

This is no boast because this is not worthy of boasting. This is only doing what little I can.

I work in food distribution, sit with the elderly at the nursing home and bake goodies whenever they are needed. Also various small jobs when needed.

Well, I serve the Lord, and it's really gratifying.
It is true that we should help others, the world is so cold and cruel that there will always be people in need.
As God said, there will be difference between those who serve him and those who don't.
Now at least, I see the difference in joy I get from helping people, even if they don't realize it.
Great is your reward.

I know you are posting anonymously, but let me remind you that the Holy Bible states that those who get their reward in this life won't get it in the next. And that we should pray in private, and not out in public "the way the hypocrites do." My point being, don't try to get a badge in this life for all your good deeds. You want your reward from God in the end, not from man, now.

If my reading skills serve me right the category is "religion & spirituality", and actually neither depends on oranised religion as in "church"
I go out to the seaside and the forest every day to serve my own needs in that, no church and no "serving" needed, thank you very much.
