Not only depression makes a person intolerant towards stress but other persons who do not understand persons and situations are also intolerant. So the point is to understand the self and others in right perspective, Mainly persons under depression dwell on bitter experiences in the past. They project this depression into the future. The best way is to remain and be aware of the PRESENT all the time.BEing one with the beautiful nature of springs, breeze sky and landscape.Rising above the level of emotions and intellect will also make him capable of enjoying the life to the full.

I would have to say depression causes a person to have a much lower than average tolerance level to stress and anxiety, you'll find that the more depressed a person is the more likely they are to find that things affect them more and more as the depression increases or the longer it goes untreated.

Depression can affect your physical health as well as your mental health. When I went through a bout of depression, I was sick all the time, had headaches, my skin was in bad shape, some hair fell out, and I was physically weak. So I have to think that your mental tolerance would be afffected as well. You are in a fragile state mentally and physically when you are depressed...everything is more intense than it really is whey you are in that state.
Which, of course, did nothing to ease the depression!
Seems to be a cycle thing that you have to break out of . I tried counseling and 3 or 4 kinds of anti-depressants/anti-anxiety drugs...all of which made me feel WORSE. Not until I broke out of it on my own that I got better.

Yes! If a person is depressed, then they have become so from long term stress and any extra stress is hard to cope with. Especially if you take alcohol and such. :)
