Greenhouses have a lot of soda glass pane exposure that lets most sunlight in. But the solar energy converted to heat can not escape as easily and builds up to keep plants warm in the spring when the air may still be very cold. The same greenhouse effect can overheat a car (through the windshield) which can be dangerous for pets and small children and infants who can not leave.
