Yes we do really know things, well to put it another way, we don't we are told things, some of us are very good, others not. What has given us a bad name is those who are only after the money, and there have been some proved to be fake, but you will find lots of people will try there hardest to put us down, why?
well a number of reasons,
Some have never had a reading, and are scared at what they might find out
Some are scared at what they do find will destroy all their beliefs that they have had all their lives.
For some they want proof, or it does not exist, but they are scared of finding out about the proof.
Some hide behind the bible, but remember that it was written by man, and twisting Gods words
Did you know that most of the people that visit Mediums, and Clairvoyants are from other religious beliefs, and many do not know about Spiritualist, unlike many of the religions around today to do not make threats, or try and blackmail you in to going to church, most times our Church's are FULL, we do not go round knocking on doors, we do not fight in the name of God, what we do is spread the word of God, LOVE, peace understanding, and yes we do pass on messages form the spirit world, without mind reading, or cold reading, we don't go round looking for excuses to condemn someone’s religion when we know nothing about it, we comment on what we know.
As you know Mediums, and Clairvoyants have been around for years, and no one has yet been able to prove that the spirit commutation does not exist, just as they can not prove the spirit world exist,

Love & Peace

Gastounet - why not take the whole book of Leviticus if you're going to quote from it? You know, including the bits about stoning women who wear trousers and stoning disobedient children.

Bloody Kisses - you are spouting peudo-scientific nonsense. Please do some basic research on wave theory, frequencies and resonance before posting another answer like this. You are correct, though, that Sylvia Browne is a joke. Along with all other 'clairvoyants'.

To the asker - There is a $1,000,000 prize for anyone who can exhibit any sort of psychic ability under test conditions. It remains unclaimed to this day. It also stands to reason that if someone were able to read minds or tell the future, they wouldn't have to make a living telling you if next year's holiday was going to work out or not.

I think it's a very dangerous practise because on one hand you have people who want to exploit very vulnerable people at times of stress.

On the other hand the Medium or clairvoyANTs may be people who need to feel important and there fore practise their need to be needed on other people. Which is for their own selfish good although they say it's love of people and really it's SELF PROMOTION. The LOOK AT ME syndrome.

On the third hand they don't know where these powers come from and they mess with a spiritual world that they have no idea or concept of whether it's good or bad.

I have come at this from a more secular view point but I do have a Christian view point that I will give if you like. Just ask the question again and I'll tell you.

There are a lot of mediums and clairvoyants that are genuine. Look at Nostradamus for instance. He knew things that were going to happen centuries before they did. A lot of people say that his readings are open to interpretation and could be said to mean anything, but some of them really are freakishly accurate.

I think that the subject of mediums and claivoyants is similar to the subject of life on other planets. There is no proof but it is foolish to deny it because there is ample evidence to support it.

I haven't consulted a medium or clairvoyant but that doesn't mean I wouldn't try it if I found one that I believed to be genuine.

Yes, I do believe that real mediums and clairvoyants have a higher frequency of brain waves than the average person. But Sylvia Browne is not a real medium. She's just a joke.

I think that yes, sometimes they do, but they are not works of God, but of the devil. They must be a danger and real by the trickery of Satan or else God would not specifically tells us NOT to practice or get involved with these people.

I have been doing readings for many years now but also had countless readings done for me
some have been ok , some have been amazing
I have had readings where I have had to go ask mum things , for instance the medium told me that my dad was talking about Brighton
not only was this a holiday resort mum and dad loved ( which i didnt know about )
but months later mum had a stroke while on holiday and taken to Brighton hospital
Brighton is in England and we are in Scotland ( hundreds of miles apart )
i did not know of any connection to the place at all prior to the reading
