I am glad you didn't misspell farter. It was close though. Your father being born here is an American citizen, since he was born here. I hope you have document's proving his birthplace. If you have those, just contact the US Immigration office, and ask them for papers to legitimize your citizenship. Explain everything to them. About your father, and the documents you have concerning his birth. As of now, you are a citizen of Australia, but you may have citizenship of USA, as well. This is a process, but under the laws of the United States, you are a legal citizen. If and when you arrive here though, you must continue to keep your documentation on hand at all times. I had 2 friends who were born in Germany, and both of their parents were American Army, American citizens. It was hard for them because they were adopted, both parents having died, so they always needed green cards to show who they were. You won't have this problem, since this is not your case. Here is the truth: if your father was born in the US and lived there for five years,two of them after the age of 14, and your parents were married, you automatically acquired US citizenship from him regardless of where you were born.

He could have gone to the nearest US embassy or consulate and registered you there, and gotten an FS-240 Consular Report of the Birth Abroad of a US Citizen and a US passport for you. Since he didn't do that, it is still not too late, but the process can be complicated depending on what evidence you can provide. You need to contact the nearest US embassy or consulate now, and get the process started.

No, you will need to apply for a green card, also they have a competition every year for green card, with one of these you can work in the USA when in the USA you can apply to become a resident , the best way to get a green card is to apply for work in your trade to companies by sendind them a resumé or your father can sponsor you . however he must have enough moneys to pay for all your expenses such as medical etc. check the us news papers and online , hope this help Good Luck.

When you were born it was up to your parents at that point to decide where your citizenship laid. This came about for me with my Daugher. If they did not apply then for your U.S. citizenship then you are not a U.S. citizen, since they allowed you to gain another citizenship. Yet you can apply for a visa to come to the U.S. and then apply for citizenship like all others.

you can go on-line to immigration and get all your papers over the Internet and mail them in. I believe it is under U.S Immigration.gov. Good luck you should not have any problems as long as you can read and write English. They are very strict about that. If you can't read or write English you may want to consider a sponsor.
