Just move on and let him be.
Don't fall into the head-game, spare his feelings. Be the mature one and keep it honest. Your conscious will be clear and you will be a far better person in the long run.

You might feel like your in a rut but trust me you weren't the only one dumped life goes on. I can't speak for your ex but you are spending to much time dwelling on past. Get out start a hobby make a new friend just enjoy yourself.

If i dumped a guy, and started seeing someone new, why would i tell my ex? it isn't any of his business at all what i do after we've broken up! And i wouldn't lie to make him jealous if that's what you meant. I break up with a guy to end it, not to drag it on and cause drama. I would only ever share that info if i had had a very serious relationship with him and he was still my best friend, or we had a baby and he was still involved, etc. but that's not gonna happen. (:

No, I would just let him find out on his own. I might wait to let it slip in a conversation among friends that he would hear, but I wouldn't directly tell him.
