hes always been seen by the mass ranks of the media as a bit of a royal joke, but i think hes proven himself to be in touch with issues effecting the world today, remember he was the one who campaigned for organic farming long before it became fashionable, he seems to have a sense of humour and at heart i think hes a decent enough sort compared to most of the other royal household, i reckon he'd be a good head of the british monarchy what do u think? { im an irishman by the way so im not really into the royals in a big way}

I apologize if I offend anyone with this, but it is a recorded, documented fact.

The man compared himself with a tampon. Enough said.

Not that I think it's right to commit adultery, but come on, almost every major leader/politician has done the same. Clinton, JFK, not to mention the reputation of other Kings! In any case, it seems that Charles has evolved into a very progressive leader, although he is still in touch with his roots. I think he would be a good king, and in fact, I've heard that soon he will take over most of the royal duties of the household due to the Queen's age. However, the Queen is very iconic and I believe that she will choose to rule for as long as she can, and I think she has the right to do so. When the time comes, though, I think Charles will do well.

First of all Sean, I do not believe for one second that he has been a 'royal joke' in the world media. Yes there have been people who have made fun of him but you know people in his position can automatically be certain that they will be criticised in some way of form. Now to your question, I am certain that when the time comes and he will be made King, he will be the most prepared king in British history. Don't forget he has waited for this all his life (almost 60 years). He will be a fine king as you have pointed out yourself. He deeply cares for his people (including all of the Commonwealth realms) unlike some of those politicians who are only out for themsleves. Charles does not have to worry about a re-election or a political agenda. He is doing it because he really cares. We should be grateful. God Bless the Prince of Wales!

The diana supporters will be choking on their cornflakes over this one!!!! The main reason for the British Monarchy is tourism - a lot of people flock from all over the world to get a glance of the queen at buckingham palace so I think we need to stick with tradition and wait until the queen dies before Charles can be king

O my God I hope he never comes close to becoming king. That would be the end of the monarchy and roll on the Republic. If the queen lives as long as her mother Charles may be dead before her, then it will go to William. We can live in hope!

I wonder whether he will ever take the throne, he's a likeable enough guy, but I think that the politics of his second marriage with Camilla and what happened before might be an issue. I love the Queen and she really is a national icon, I think she'll be going for years yet!

I think he will be a good king, he has shown that he cares about a lot of today's problems. As with the organic farming, where he was way ahead of the times. And with his concerns about modern architecture, where I quite agree with him about sticking huge box-like buildings in the midst of a heritage area.
He will be OK.

He may well be ready to be King but I'm not sure the British people are ready for him yet (or ever come to taht).
A growing majority of people would prefer if the succession passed him by in favour of William.
