I work the 11pm to 7am shift, and have for about 8 years now.
I like it because it is usually quiet, and I get to work unsupervised. (That is, I get to spend most of my time on Answers... hah!)

If I didn't have a family, I like 3pm to 11pm because I can sleep in and wake up naturally and then stay up late but it's hard to shop on that schedule. Nites are second best because you get to see your family too and days just stink because I hate getting up early.

DAY shifts. I worked 16 years of rotating shift work in the military, 4 days, 4 nights, 4 grave yard shifts, back-to-back and then had 2 to 3 days off every 13 days...
Bottom line -- shift work damages you mentally, physiologically, and dampens your healthly immune system and destroys family cohesion...

Regular days. Much better for the body in the long term. Most people die, by the way, between the hours of 2am-4am when the body's resistance is at its lowest.
That's why soooooooooo few managers and bosses actually work the night shift. They leave it instead to us mere mortals.
Think about it................
