I'm just curious, does it hurt to have your period girls? I've ever really understood this before. Is it unconfortable to have it like during class or while having P.E.? What age do you usually first get it at?

haha. I find this kinds funny, how men are either really interested or really mebarrased.
I am 14 and i stared just before i was 12. It is a shock when you first get it, but you dont bleed buckets.
Its not like when you have a cut, that kind of pain, but you get awful lower tummy pains. Seriously bad stuff, i can barley walk ona bad day.
But you deal with it! To start with noone talked about it, and everyone knew if youd started cos you couldnt do swimming. Now everyones open about having periods, and it is fine.
The only time it is especially uncomforatble for me is in ballet whne we wear tight costumes and do plies (bends) and stuff.
You can get it between 9 and 16 i think, most start around 13.
I hope you shoose me as best answer cos i have so revealed all lol!!!!

Periods usually last about 4-7 days a month, every month. And some girls get cramps [some describe it as a dull ache] in their lower abdomen {stomach}. Girls wear either sanitary towels {which soak up the blood and are worn on the outside of the body} or Tampons {that require manual insertion}. Period blood is usually red blood, but you'll be surprised: it can sometimes be brown or black. When you have your period the blood doesn't hurt but you can sometimes feel it trickling out of your body, or burts of it coming out. Some girls find it easier to wear two pairs of knickers when on their period as this prevents leaks.
Girls usually start their periods at 11-13 years old, but it can be as young as 8, and as old as 18. It varies from person to person.
Don't worry about it :)

When you get your first period, you are usually a little confused and not sure that it is what you think it is. You do not just pour blood out, in fact you don't really feel it at all. You usually discover it when you go to the bathroom and see the spots on the underwear. Sometimes you get cramps, and that's sort of hard to explain for a guy to understand- but it's like a really bad stomachache, low in your belly. Sometimes the cramps can get really bad, and make you feel sick to your stomach. Girls usually get their first period between 12 and 14, although some get it as young as 9 and as late as 16. It just depends on the girl, her health, and her heredity. At first it takes some getting used to, and the pads feel a little awkward and uncomfortable, and you feel really self conscious about the whole deal. Sort of the way a guy feels when his voice begins to change and things start changing down south as well. After a while, you just get used to it and learn to do all the things you enjoy without worrying about it. It just becomes part of who you are, and you don't give it a lot of thought. In fact, you get so used to it, that it makes you really feel disfunctional if you don't get it when you expect to. After a year or so, you are able to fairly well predict when it will happen, so you aren't caught offguard and unprepared. But most girls have a fairly good sympathy for another girl who is caught off and will help out with supplies. They will even warn if you have spotted through clothing and often help you manage a camoflauge. As a fellow, the best thing you can do is not make crude jokes about it all, and be understanding of a girlfriend about it. If you are old enough to know about periods, then its time you were old enough to be mature about it. There is no need to feel embarassed about feminine products or the period itself- although of course you don't have to embarass a girl either. If you happen to notice a girl has spotted through, the news will probably best come from another girl or woman- just quietly ask one to inform the girl she has spotted and needs to make a bathroom visit. If all else fails, then simply take the girl aside and quietly tell her she might want to visit the ladies room. You don't need to go into it all any further- she will probably catch on and feel embarassed enough. Then just act mature, and matter of fact, and walk off like a gentleman should. If you are really curious for other answers, why not simply ask your mother. While it may make you feel squirmy, I'm sure she would rather answer your questions than have you confused, and would not mind. I answered my son's questions, honestly, and I think your's probably would too.

okay, good question. half of all women suffer from bad symptoms the other half gets lucky. girls start having their period at the age nine to sixteen, depending on their genetics. (oriental girls are for instance often premature compared to others, that's why they used to get married
that dramatically younger) symptoms go from heavy mood swings, hyperactivity, migraine head-aches, bloating, swelling of tissues, pain in breasts, contraction-like cramps
in the lower belly ( uterus contractions in order to loosen
the mucous membrane at will be repulsed and then replaced during a cycle), back pain ( that's where the blood is produced in order to replace the menstrual blood etc), plus that the harsh chemical reactions caused by the hormones ( responsible agents for all those complex procedures) are triggering a weird emotional ride, from euphoric to suicidal depressed, along with poor or heavy bleeding ( we don't enjoy the idea either, but are left with no choice...:-)...
In the worst case it feel as if each cell in your body fights against the other.
PS: each specific case is individually different and I think it's great if you ask the girl you're with if she wants to tell you about how she feel...and sometimes sex is the best cure though.
