How did your employer react, what deal did you have to strike if any, how do your co-workers feel, how practical is it in truth?
Like to hear your (short) stories, especially office-based scenarios. Thanks in advance, Mark

Took my 12mth old Thai Ridgeback to the office when I started a new job. With the Boss's consent.
Tied her to my desk and got to work.
The Office Manager came up tp welcome me. My 'Lucky' went potty!
She would not allow anyone near me.
That was it. No dog in the office.........Too bad as she had to stay alone at home from then on.

When I was a Security officer at a huge Business Park in Berkshire where there were a large number of firms based, we had orders from the site management that anybody trying to a dog into their workplace on Site was not to be allowed in until the dog was taken away. Failure to adhere to that order resulted in disciplinary action against us. This order was issued to us because the site gardiner did not like having to pick up certain stuff that was believed to emanate from all dogs underneaths in his learned opinion.

as an owner of a company i would have to say no you will have a hard time convincing your boss to let you do this

FIRST OFF WHAT KIND OF DOG IS IT and WHY bring it to work

if you have lagit reasons are you disable do you need the dog then yes of course by law you can bring the dog

now i own my company it is very small i have 8 workers and i am a very easy going boss... well to work for me is not the norm... ppl come and go as they please as long as the work gets done and i do not have a strict dress code unless you are going to see a client...... i have had one girl come in to show us her puppy and she has brought him a few times to work he is crate trained and is very quiet but remember they need to go out when they need too if you are on the phone and can't take him out you have a problem..... also if ppl are on the phone and he barks or whimpers or whines... you will have to take him out

remember would you want to be in a box all day with alot of ppl coming around and not being able to play or run you also have to think about food and water...... if it spills under your desk are you going to wreck a comp wires system because the water spilled???

See above story - same happened to me. Despite the rest of the office roaring with laughter, the boss didn't think having a fierce looking Dobermann take a dump on the carpet was funny.

I would love to take my dog to work - thing is he is a very young cocker spaniel and would create bedlam! I suppose, you have to consider people who don't like dogs - some people hate them!
