I believe that we've mis-labeled the problem. Just because the earth is warming now doesn't mean that the end result is just heat, and I believe people are mislead by the name. Global climat destabliziation would be my choice. Now what do you think about Global warming as a name for this problem?

great view point. no matter the name to the problem, people will not really make changes to lifestyle until they actually are affected by these changes, and not a few degrees. most of mankind feels the problem is too big for them, thus giving them justification to do nothing. this is a global problem needing a global answer, no one country can do any major change but we are a long away from global unity on anything

Global doom is a more appropriate name, and people are oblivious to it. I've seen climate changes during my life, winters are getting warmer and a lot of people think "It's Wonderful!" They keep adding pollutants to the atmosphere with fossil fuel burning, and industrial waste with no regard to future generations, but why should they care? They won't "Be around " to see it happen.
