Look, the point you raised is not only guys of your age come up with. Rather, this is a problem that every living being faces.
Personally speaking, I didn't see many people in my life who could even claim to be leading a very happy life.
Look, when you buy a cell phone for instance, you normally have an owner's manual along with. I would like you to think over that why actually do we go for reading the whole manual out...
Yes, of course the answer is because we would like our cell phone to work for a longer period of time and that too without many problems.
If we ponder over it more deeply, we would say ''the one who manufactured it knows best'' therefore we follow their instructions.
Likewise, we human beings are created by God. And we normally live a very unhappy life because we don't treat ourselves as per the instructions given on our manual (the holy quran).
I can assure you if we lead our lives as per the instructions of our LORD, we'd never live unhappily.
A small demonstration would be...
If you are passing by a street and come across a begger, what would you do?
God says, help him.
NOw what would be your feelings when you have helped someone? You would be happy of course.
Bottom line, you keep others happy & God will always keep you happy either. Trust me ;o)

cch_2007: you just hit puberty! Son you're brain and body are going through a very hard time and it is just the beginning.
All your life you have been going on at a fair clip with all that is about you. You just hit the bog!! Everything it different because you're brain has started to rewire itself, and your body is growing at an accelerated rate and you are as confused as the "Mad Hatter".
Yes I'm happy... because I'm in my fifties. I used to be fourteen, and I know what you're feeling. I've had a whole years experience at being fourteen you know. So let me tell you....you are not happy because you don't know what is going to happen next.
You are going to grow into adulthood, this takes about six or seven years for the male. You are going to have good times in this state of growing confusion, but don't let the massive amount of change deter you from going on. You can be happy!
Really. It is more than possible to be happy, whether you are oriental, black, caucasion, aboriginal, or pink with purple polka dots!!!!
Now that you have a succinct explanation as to what is happening you can get on with "happy". Because now you know why you seem sad. It is hormonal, and growth, in your mental and physical change. That is the culprit to your happiness.
Now then....here's a medicine for the symptoms of growth.
Make yourself happy, and do not let lifes growth get in the way.
You know before a year is up you are going to be fifteen. If you think fourteen is tough wait till fifteen is over because then you gotta go through a whole year of sixteen.
It's hard to be happy with all this change, it isn't impossible, just a little more difficult than it has been in the past. What's more is: you have about six years to work through all this.
NOW GO FORTH YOUNG MAN AND MAKE YOURSELF HAPPY. Or at least find happiness trying.

I was, until I asked this question to myself. And now I have found myself several reasons for being unhappy, or being not happy. This however is no fault of yours; it is sometimes good if we ask questions that make other think most personally. But thinking does not always assure consolation, or in this case happiness. This is just the way it is with us humans beings, I presume. That happiness is an illusion in the mind that seeks perfection more than any other thing, anything less than perfect would makes us sad or unhappy (if these two are synonymous), as the sense of incompletion would prevail. When we attempt to make ourselves perfectly happy, we feel as if something very important is missing somewhere very important, or something might go missing that is now the source of so much happiness for us - excuse me for using a first persona plural, it sounds as if I am speaking for all, but it is just a general way of speaking about things common to us all.

And then I sometimes compare myself with other people and find myself in a bad way, then I try to get better than the rest; and then again when I see people who I think are worse off than myself, I like to see more of such people, as I need constant assurances that I am aright, or that I am fine and fabulous, for if I don’t, I suspect all things, I suspect if I am really right.

I sometimes do have glimpses of deep insightfulness about my world. I feel that I belong to this world just as much as this world belongs to me, that all this, in a way, is mine; that I am an indispensable part of something magnificent and grand. This makes me feel happy in a way that all things in life seem to me as bonuses where being alive would have been all to keep me happy. Then I see that all this life is mine, all sorrows, failures, pains and hurts they are all mine and as I embrace my life I embrace them all then I feel expanded and warm. Then I realized that I not merely a fruit picker in life but I can actually grown my own gardens, and if are thorns and pricks alongside flowers and fruit then so what they are all mine and next year I will do better.

what is happy??

i'm asian too... i feel the same way when i was your age, dislike, unwanted and an outsider but eventually it all will be better just time varies depends on a person...

in the mean time try focusing on the good stuff in your life... like doing what you like or take up a hobby that really represent yourself...

you have a long way to go i life to say you are happy or not with your life... maybe it's tough to grow up as an asian when you are different but every thing will be just fine and you will do well...

like right now i'm not saying i am entirely happy with me but i got through and beginning to feel better about myself and about my life...

just take your life a day at a time... and enjoy every moment of it... you can only be a teen once in your life... make full use of it...

let me first tell you laugh does not mean happy at all. happy is an emotion. life has two sides. and we have two angles. one is positive and the other is negative. now you are seeing this world in the second angle.
for eg: you can either think that you are only one or you are one. you should make out the difference in it. the same way try to see every thing in a positive way. happiness means mental satisfaction. when you laugh you are not happy rather you are excited. always be free. you are in this world and the world is now a part that belongs to you. care for it and be happy.
you should laugh play and never get tensed.
best wishes for your happy life ahead.

It's a shame that you feel unhappy. I am very happy and I am 13. Did you ever see those phone adverts? About living for now like a mayfly? The message was life is short so do whatever you want to make you happy.

i feel being "Happy" is just a mind game. its the resulting feeling you get when look at things with a positive approach. being optimistic is the solution. so we all can be happy, by just thinking each moment that we are happy or we shall be happy soon. the feeling of happiness waiting at our doorstep also gives another felling which makes one happy.

moral of the story:
LIFE is like a piano. where its white keys represent happy moments while the black one's represent sad moments.
but the point is when u start from end,
the BLACK keys PLAY GOOD MUSIC TOO!

so dear friend even if ur turned down today don't worry because at every dark tunnel's end there is light.

Happiness is a state of mind. It's when you feel in a harmony with all the things around you, when you know you are able to help somebody, to live for something, to have a sense of living.... The only possibility to be alive and to have emotions and feelings and thoughts makes me happy. Life is worth to face with. Yes, I'm happy.

I find life goes in stages - every stage of your life from being young to old brings benefits and disadvantages!. Sometimes, you will feel very happy and then others not happy. I sometimes feel angry too about things. It is all normal - if you talk to your friends, they are usually feeling the same as you. I sometimes hate life and then other times I feel high on life!

I'm happy, at the same time unhappy.

I'm happy, 'cuz I have someone that is very important to my whole life, and unhappy, 'cuz I have a dream that I don't know how to achieve it. But still, happiness will still go on no matter what will happen.
