The truth is that Miami is not like the movie. Cops are very corrupt, the majority of the population is over retirement age, jobs a slim pickings, hurricans are frequent, and you better speak spanish fluently (includes reading/writing it).
Also Florida, which is were Miami is, is known as, "Gods waiting room" in the US since so many seniors retire there and wait to die.

my best advice is to do your research before you make a decision like that. miami is no where close to what they make it look at the movies or on TV.
everything is super exepensive, owning a home is getting close to impossible because everything is super expensive and the salaries are not matching up with everything else. thats why there is such a huge percent of people that are in poverty here in Miami. Also the traffic is terrible, no one here knows how to drive correctly. Like i said before jobs dont pay good enough and the middle class over here is slowly disappering because your either poor or very well off that you could afford living here.
Miami has its nice things like the beaches, the malls and all of that. coming here for vaction will be really nice, but its one thing vactioning in miami and living here on a every dadt basis. I've lived here all my life and i barly have time to go to the beach at times, everything is very fast paced over here.
So my best advice to you is to really think it out and if you really like miami that much , plan a vaction trip over here instead of planning to live here because its not all they say it is.
