I personally think the best charity is the little difference you can make to another individual's life, by actually being part of the action, as opposed to giving it to the big multinational organisations who many of us rely on to do the deed for us.
I know that many people say they don't have time to go overseas and help, but we're forgetting there are the homeless in our own countries. Our neighbours and our community. Many of us are tied down to working, generating wealth for 'our children' and to support their future, but if such a mentality persists as it already has, those who are born into unfortunate circumstances are part of an ever-breeding, perpetuating circle of poverty.
So what are YOUR thoughts on charity? What have YOU done to make a difference?
Next time you see elderly people in your suburb, passing by you in the early hours of the morning when you're making your way to work, maybe a simple 'hello' may make someone's day much brighter.
Peace.
