Hi, I was wondering if I could get some advice, please. My last period was 25/02, on 08/03 I had a red, mucus-like discharge that only lasted for a few days, we had unprotected sex on 09/10/11 of March. It is now 18/03 and I've started to have cramping pains. Not severe but noticeable. My next period is due on 25/03. My cycle is regular and 28 days. I have a 5 year old child and had cramping with her but thought I was about to get my period. Is it too early to do a pregnancy test?
Thank you
Sophy

If your next period is not due until March 25, I don't think I'd be worrying or rejoicing just yet. Yes, you could be pregnant considering your time of unprotected sex was within the normal ovulation time, however, it doesn't guarantee anything. Many of the OTC early pregnancy tests can be quite accurate even this early. If you just have to know before your next period, invest in one of these and check. Then, if it is positive, wait until the 25th and make sure before making any doctor appointments. If you are pregnant Sophy, I hope t his is good news for you and your partner. A child is a wonderful gift. Kathy

I don't know about the red mucus like stuff but from the looks of it there is a strong possibility that you may be pregnant. The 9th-11th would put you having sex during your fertile window. Who knows if you were to have ovulated during those days but sperm can like 3-5 days in right conditioned cervical mucus. As for the cramping you're just going to have to wait and see it could be implantation or the start of your period about to come, just this time you are noticing more things with your body because of the situation.

I think it still may be a little too early to test and get accurate results so give it a couple of days and then try testing. However the outcome I hope its the one you are in search for. Best Wishes!
