1. Become EXALTED with Darnassus and buy a mount from the vendor in Darnassus. I do not believe this is your best bet though. It is a long grind to exalted.

3. Reputation grind in the northern part of Winterspring. I agree that this is a mind-numbing faction grind, again to EXALTED, and I wouldn't recommend it unless you *absolutely* have to have the purple wintersaber.

4. Your best bet in my opinion, is to get the Black War Tiger from the PVP rewards area in Stormwind. This can be accomplished relatively quickly. Play in the Battlegrounds for a week or so and you should have enough to buy one.

There's 3 ways of doing it.

First is to gain faction with Darnassus, and buy a mount normally. This is your best bet, as you can gain faction from questing, PvPing, or donating cloth.

Second is to get a rare tiger mount drop from the Zul'Gurub dungeon. It was pretty rare to begin with, and now with the expansion, there's not too many people running ZG.

The third is to quest for a wintersaber, in Winterspring. This has been described as a mind-numbing faction grind, and I wouldn't recommend it unless you *absolutely* have to have the purple wintersaber.

As another person mentioned, as a human you will need to get to the required repuation with Darnassas. I'm not sure if this will be as high as revered or not, but it will take a while to get there whatever it is.
