good question.. yes my past has a lot of control over me.. im finding it difficult to ignore it....

Without the past there would be no present or future so I guess it does still have control over me. I'm working on leaving the baggage behind.

The past affects me to some extent in that it helps me make better choices for today. Love keeps me from leaving the past behind compleatly, You should never regret what once made you happy

I'm always looking back at the past and sometimes wondering what would've happened, I hate to regret so sometimes when I make decisions it takes me a long time because I'm thinking about what could /not happen. So yes, the past still lingers on the back of my mind just so I don't try to repeat past mistakes

if you remember mistakes from the past it helps to not make the same mistakes twice. Even if you did try to forget the past something in life in a split second can take you back to any given moment in time a song, a place a person.

You assume the "past" is a negative thing, and I suppose for some, it is. However, if it weren't for the "past", I personally would have a much bleeker present and future.
The good AND the bad all ultimately came together to make me who I am
and I came to realize that being me wasn't the worst thing I could be.
I found out that, all this time, I had been truly blessed.

Yes, I had a rough childhood and while I try to forget, sometimes things people say to me can take me back there. Plus when I get my period I get pretty depressed and dwell on the past or animal suffering, sometimes a combination of both.

a little. and a judge is whats preventing me from leaving my past behind, and my probation officer, and my dumb emotionally unstable ex wife which is the reason i'm on probation. damn why are chicks so damn emotionally unstable, and plz don't say not all are. Just ask yourself if your a chick, are you depressed right now,, has anyone lately wondered if you were depressed. are you sick right now, and do you seem to get sick often not counting mentsrual issues. I rest my case because I garantee that 99% of the chicks who read this said yes to all or most of these. chicks are such head aches. however chicks sure do have nice azz.

yeah plenty it controls how i feel about myself it controls how i feel about other people who i do or dont trust {in most cases i dont} the reason i cant leave my past behind is cos i believe im useless im thick if you are told often enough by your parents then yes you do start to believe these things of yourself

My past definitely controls me...I had a difficult childhood suffering from eating disorders, drug problems, alcoholism, abuse and many things bring me back to that. Its hard to let go when you still get constant reminders of it.
