I'm definately going to have to go with The Simpsons. It has so many levels of humor, and is SO MUCH more sophisticated than Family Guy (which to me just seems like a blatant copy of the Simpsons).
Plus, The Simpsons has so much more character development and personality than any of its competition, as well as much better writing (although I'll admit that the newer episodes aren't perfect).
Another thing that makes The Simpsons superior is that, sometimes, it even has a little bit of heart. Look no further than the episode "Lisa's Substitute" in the 2nd season for a clear demonstration of this.

I know The Simpsons is classic, but I have to say I love Family Guy. The creator must be high all the time because he comes up with the craziest things I've ever seen on the show. American Dad can be entertaining at times, but if you want a guaranteed laugh, it's Family Guy.

I think The Simpsons used to be the superior show when it first came out. Like all shows it went kind of down hill.
Right now, at the moment, I'm going to have to go with Family Guy.

simpsons are way better. Family guy is just ok and American dad just doesnt do it for me
