Horrible horrible horrible idea. First off, IMO Nash shouldnt even be in the running for MVP and should have 0 MVPs to his name. But despite my own personal feelings, Dirk Nowitzki is head and shoulders better than Nash on a MUCH better team. The Mavs defeated the Suns (and Spurs) last season en route to a West. Conf. championship and to become the NBA runner ups - they have gotten alot better than last season and i see no one outside of the Spurs that can compete with them in the West when playoffs come around. Nash runs a team that thrives due to the fact that the NBA has absolutely no focus on defense outside of a handful of teams. Once the playoffs come around teams lock up defensively and the Suns are screwed b/c they are not capable of beating a good defensive team in a 7 game series based on the fact that the Suns themselves could be one of the worst defensive teams ive EVER seen. Nash is great, but he isnt even close as the late great John Stockton - who has 0 MVPs by the way. If Nash was so "great" then the Mavs wouldnt have replaced him so easily. If Nash was so "great" why did it take him 7-9 yrs to average a double double? Stockton averaged a double double over his entire CAREER!! Nash doesnt have a shot in hell at doing that and Nash's BEST SINGLE SEASON avg is what Stockton averaged for his CAREER. Nash isnt even in my top 5 while Dirk is definitely the #1 choice.
To completely fix this problem ppl should get a little bit smarter and realize that Nash isnt the MVP, but thats not gonna happen so my final solution is to have the MVP voting AFTER the entire season and postseason is done.

u know what....i think this is a fantastic idea!!!
i doubt they will allow for a joint mvp. of course its voted and if it so happens then so be it, but i dont know whether the L wants it.
dirk has been amazing and has shown maturity. he is now the leader the team has longed for since nash left. his numbers speak for themselves.
everyone insults nash and theyre all complete morons. why doesnt he deserve mvp votes? because he doesnt dominate, ball hog and throw up 30 shots a game on his way to averaging 30ppg? is it because u think he has amare and marion there and they do all the work?
sure, amare and marion do the work. they score off the buckets nash provides. and what about dirk....he scores because players get him the ball....because terry and howard are such good players that defenses CANT double team dirk making it hard for him to get his shot off.
nash has elevated the players around him and no one can doub that. look at the bio's of amare and marion and u will see that since 04-05 they have achieved a lot more then previous years.
nash is averaging double digit assists. do u know how hard that is to do?? a guy showing u can be a dominant player without being selfish is deservant of an MVP award. nash is nearly a 20 and 10 player....and lets not forget, the 10 is for assists, not rebounds!!!
nash wont get it, and i think its because of all these morons who insist he is such a bad player. lay off him and look at the stats and the records for themsevles. dont be quick to attack
to the person who said the MVP should be given after the season and post season is done...well thats just WRONG. MVP is for the regular season, so it is given AFTER the regular season!!! there is a seperate award for the best player in the postseason...and thats the finals MVP. how good or bad u do in the postseason has no bearing on whther u win the regular season MVP or not

Although it is unquestionable how important Nash is to the Suns, just check out their record when he's hurt, I would have to lean toward Dirk getting the MVP this year. In my opinion, he is playing with less talent around him than is Nash, Howard is developing into a superstar, but Nash is surrounded by two true stars in Marion and Stoutemire, and the Mavs have the NBAs best record. If Dallas holds on to home court advantage, I see it as Dirk's to lose.

No, The Suns were NOT winning when Nash was out last Month. They won like 3 games out of 10. There would NO SUNS without NASH. Dallas can still win without DIRK. They have an all-star cast without DIRK. He is German, White, and very Good. I am an English Man Myself and 25 Percent German. Nash is Canadian and about my Height and about my Weight. It is unbelievable what they did to Dallas with NASH last Wednesday. Look at the last minute of the ball game, and they went into 2 overtimes!!!!!!!!!!!

it is going to be Nash because of the fact he's needed to their effective run. before he went back to the Suns they have been trash. finding out to purchase Nash and making him their chief, working the offense to examine his skills, helped the different acquisitions like Bell and Diaw develop their video games. to boot the Suns are taking part in the favored precise now. it is no longer consistently the guy on the perfect team that gets MVP (why i do no longer think Dirk gets MVP trophy; See Detroit Pistons 2006). Like somebody mentioned above the MVP is going to the guy who in the event that they have been injured or no longer able to play the gang could be trash with out.

No that just cannot happen. Steve nash is far to valuble to the suns, he has gotten them where they are today. and you have seen what happens when they play without him. He deserves the MVP award more than ever this year.

wtf no. Nash is friggin overrated. his passes are set up. he just doesn't randomly do them. Dirk works for his points and rebounds. Nash only shoots if he's open or he'll pass to amare and amare will dunk it giving nash an assist. Amare deserves the MVP award if Nash gets it this year.
