Come on people he knew that it was going to happen and he intentionally gave a blind eye to let it happen. The question is, why did he do it?

No he honestly didnt know it was going to happen. He was completely oblivious of the possibility, oblivious of his responsiblity to pay attention to the job he was elected to do. He was a shitty, incompetent corporate executive in the private domain. He is a shitty, incompetent leader in general.
It's not to Bush's credit that people like him get elected to high office; it's the fault of the People for electing the moron.
