I think people in Iraq were happy to see us at first, but we have worn out our welcome. If it wasn't WMD's it would have been some other false pretext to get us involved in this mess. 911 gave this administration the excuse it needed to invade. It has now become the blame game with President Bush blaming the CIA and other intelligence gatherers. The decision was made even before 911 to invade. Bush just needed a reason the American public would accept. The flowers have long since wilted, and the candy has left a bitter taste.

I believe Bush went into Iraq with noble intent. His intel was bad and the defiance of Saddam towards the UN resolutions caused the situation.
I think removing Saddam was good but as a taxpayer, I do not believe the USA can continue to excise bad leaders around the world. I for one do not want my tax dollars being spent on being the world's policeman.
I would prefer to see the military built into a strong sustained force to deter others from attacking us. This country needs to start doing things smart versus doing so very many things just plainly STUPID!!! Why do we give foreign aid to Saudi Arabia!!!!! Stupid!!!
There is so much right with the USA, but there is a lot wrong with it as well. The immigration issue alone has the power to convert us all to a burdened nation as we are converting to a Hispanic nation by the influx of Mexicans. At present, there are large Hispanic populations in every city in the country. Our immigration laws are designed to forgoe this sort of thing but these laws are not enforced.
The present problem of being in Iraq is bad. If we don't finish the task, it will almost guarantee another Saddam will take the leadership of the country, possibly someone like Sadr, who hates the USA. We should throw huge resources at the problem and finish it, not pull out and run.
Yes, WMDs were not found. But that's old history now. It's too late to stop. What the Democrates are doing is so very unpatriotic that it makes me vomit. I hope the great people of America votes them all out at the first opportunity. They are all bad for the country.

Don't expect a reasonable answer from these lying stealing violent scumbags. They have no clue,no brain and no morality. All they have is fake Christianity and a big mouth
Like they have all big talk here on answers but most of the sissy conservatives who claim to have served their country would piss their pants if they were confronted with any real war.

does WMD stand for "what mindless dummies"?
what's done is done. i hoped we as citizens learned something.
baa-ah baa-ah baa-ah
the official reasons given for the war were bogus. only time can put true perspective on the actual event and results.
the flowers and candy? ask the corporations that landed the fat-cat government contracts ... you know, bush's friends and associates.
should we be waiting for a "trickle down" effect from their mega-earnings on that?
baa-ah baa-ah baa-ah
i'll hold my breath for my drop of that ... not.

That crafty Saddam Hussein dismantled all his WMD before the US & Coalition Troops arrived.
Either that, or he didn't have them to begin with.

"Don't expect a reasonable answer from these lying stealing violent scumbags."
I suppose this passes as a reasoned response these days.
