Absolutely not. If you want to train a dog, then consult a professional dog trainer, watch The Dog Whisperer (Cesar Millan), check out reputable websites (like the Humane Society) or read a book. Spanking a dog is just abuse.

Why would anyone want to spank a dog. They are smart enough to learn with patient training and consistancy.

No they don't get it, yelling works better cause that is a dogs way of letting each other what's up.
