Hi Mr. q.,

Sorry to be a downer; but there are no "benefits and upsides" to nihilism. In fact, genuine nihilism is an intellectual impossibility. Everyone eventually develops a moral system. It may be good, bad, selfish or altruistic; but total nihilism is impossible to achieve.

Nihilism appeals to the intellectually lazy, and those who wish to feel superior without ever having to put anything on the line. It's an intellectual cop-out of the first magnitude, and not worth anyone's time.

Nihilism - absolute denial , a viewpoint rejecting any positive ideals .
In a way Nihilism leads to changes - whether they are good or bad depends upon the person who view it .

its not a waste of time to learn about it so that it can be rejected as a valid philosophy
