this is an math question

the three in 231 is how many times lager than 3 in 491.3??
please can you tell me how you worked it out as well???

this is an diffrent math question.

my bathroom scale shows that i weigh 10%mare than actually do what would be my weight if it tells me that i weigh 92.4kg??? and again please tell me how you worked it out.

this is another maths question.

OK,I am trying to answer your question one by one
3 in 231 carries value of 30 because it is ten's place.The 3 in 491.3 carries the value of three-tenth or 3 upon ten or 3/10 as we generally write it>Remember it is in tenth's place.Therefore,the first 3 is exactly 100 times larger than the later 3.
If your weight is 100 kg,it will show 110 kg.OK?so if you want to know your actual weight,you must multiply the weight given or indicated by it by 100/110 or 10/11 to get your actual weight.So just multiply 92.4 kg by 10/11 to know your correct weight.It is 84 kg.
We know that the surface area of a cube is 6a^2,where a is the length of side of the cube
Therfore a^2=216/6=36
=> a=6cm
Hence volume of the cube=6*6*6=216 cu.cm

1. the 3 in 231 is 30 and the 3 in 491.3 is 0.3
30/0.3=100
so, the 3 in 231 is 100 times bigger than the 3 in 491.3.

2. 92.4 x (1-10%)
= 92.4 x 90%
= 83.16 kg

3. as the surface area is 216cm2
and there are 6 faces on a cube
216/6
=36cm2
now, you know the area of each face
then...
6 x 6 = 36
so the height of the cube it 6cm
then the volume of the cube in cm3 is...
36 x 6 = 216 cm3
as...
1m3 = 1000000cm3
so... 216 cm3 = 0.000216 cm3

The basis for the decimal system raises the value of a digit exponentially by 10, depending upon its placement. So we multiply by 10 for when a digit is 1 place further from the end, so...

in this case the 3 is 2 places further to the left and therefore: 10^2 = 100 times greater

2) Let x= your actual weight

x + x/10 = 92.4
so 11x/10 = 92.4
11x = 924
x=84

3) Surface area of a cube is surface of one side multiplied by 6, so surface of 1 side = 216/6 = 36 cm^2
Square root this to get the length of one dimension of the cube = 6. Volue = 6^3 = 216 cm^3

1)
The 3 in 231 is in the 10's place.
The 3 in 491.3 is in the 10th's place, or 0.1

so.. 10 / 0.1 = 100

It is 100 times larger.

2)
What do you weight? We don't know, so we'll call it W.

The reading on your bath scale is 10% of your actual weight, plus your actual weight... so

92.4 =10% * W + W
92.4 = 0.10 * W + W
92.4 = 1.1 * W
84 kg = W

3)
For a cube..

SA = 6 s²
V = s³

Where s is the length of a side. Remember, a cube has 6 faces, each with area s². The volume is just a standard defintion that you should know.

216 = 6 s²
36 = s²
6 in = s

V = s³ = 6³ = 216 cm³
