I saw it on last Thursday pn my fav TV channel (the characters one, you know) and I think it is SO interesting! Of course, any actor/actress from Buckaroo Banzai is tops in my book! That show is a better Saturday midnight flick than Rocky Horror.
Without saying too much about it, I will say the main character uses his imagination to the max, and maybe a little too much to others. So he might be seen as mentally unbalanced, maybe? Would any police force keep such a detective? Did it rock your kasbah? What do you think of it?

I was curious, so I watched. It was hard to follow the story line about the Raines character, i.e., what he was doing and why, how he got that way. I don't think the show will last. I've seen much better shows taken off for no good reason after the "powers that be" moved them around the dial or took them off for weeks or showed reruns, then brought them back and wondered why nobody was watching. Some were taken off in the middle of the run leaving anyone who was interested high and dry. Why not finish with the episodes that were filmed (no reruns). I'd love to know who these people are that get the big bucks to make such idiot decisions. A lot of good shows bit the dust because of them. I am not sure even Jeff's followers are gonna like this show. I am not that big a fan of Jeff's, but I'll give it a few more tries.

Jeff Goldblume (excuse the spelling), is an "ok" actor. He's been around for awhile. He doesn't surprise me playing this type of "role" in a drama sitcom as to Raines. The issue I'm concerned about is that we have "Ghost Whisperer" which I feel is an excellent show. Then we have "Medium" which is another like "Raines". And then we have "Physic Detective" on CTV. Raines is the only one that is primarily "male" in this line of work which I feel might be alittle odd since the others are mostly women...lol. Now the first show wasn't too bad but myself I'm going to have to watch the show again to see if it keeps my attention ongoing. It's different but in reality, I really don't think that a Police Department would condone someone as Raines. He does use his imagination well and he would have to, playing a part as this. But unless Jeff can really put out the acting and the producers can give the viewers what they want, I have a feeling that this drama will not last too long.

Jeff Goldblum is really perfect for the part. It is particularly interesting that his character is not a psychic. His character, Michael Raines, strikes me as a thinking man, a natural profiler and sleuth in the tradition of Sherlock Holmes. I am looking forward to the next episode.
