We have a big problem with mice every autumn after the corn fields are cut. The first step is to stop them from getting in. Inspect your foundation and your doors, and make sure there are no cracks or small holes. There are good ways to plug them, but an emergency measure would be to stuff it with steel wool.

Second step is to put all your food in some sort of plastic or metal containers. I like plastic because it's see-through. If they can't get to the food, they are less likely to hang around.

Put anything that can be used as nesting materials (newspaper, cotton stuffing, fabric) in plastic containers, too.

You simply MUST keep all eating to one or two rooms (like the kitchen and dining room), and sweep or vacuum at least once a day -- or possibly after every meal.

Is it possible to keep a cat? Cats are the best! But if it's not possible, get some old-fashioned spring mousetraps (or The Better Mousetrap) and put them where you see mouse poop.

It will take awhile, but we usually find that we have no mice by the middle of January if we follow these measures after October. (And I think that's because we still have holes in the foundation that no one is taking care of.)

Good luck!

you may purchase a mouse poison, see if it extremely works yet getting a cat is plenty extra effectual. because of the fact the mouse poison will in basic terms kill the mice even in spite of the shown fact that it won't scare them away. they might nevertheless reproduce. A cat can scare them away or perhaps consume it. when you consider that your grandparents are allergic to cat, i might propose you to get a kinfolk cat (much less fur) and positioned a fabric on it (to cover it is fur). in the journey that your pal has a cat, you are able to tell them to come back over to spend an afternoon with their cat at your place. subsequently, you do no longer could get a cat.

the best place to fight mice is outside, before they come in, I put llong pipes out side with poison in them next to the house, but i have no children. I change the poison every 3 months and i have traps in the kitchen and I put poison in the basement and I have not had a mouse all winter, you have to be careful of pets and children if you use poison good luck

If you are a pet lover, it would be andisable to have two or three cats. do not feed them for a start and survival instinct will be to hunt down the mice. use rat poison if you do not have crawling infants. it worked for me after they had damaged my car wiring when parked in the garage.

Heather Locklear had a party one evening. One of her guests told her that he saw a large dead rat on her living room floor.

She asked him to descretely throw it out. He took a towel, went over to the rat, picked it up and threw it outside as far as he could.

He went over to Heather and told her - "When I thew the rat out, it landed...and ran away."
