No I do not. As bad as I feel for the homeless people, living in the environment as they do, I would not want them sleeping in brand new beds that were to be sold to people due to sanitation reasons. I don't think I'd like the fact if I bought a brand new bed for my children that someone else has already been sleeping in it. However it would be nice if the old beds that furniture places remove from residences could be placed in a shelter for the homeless people to sleep in because I have seen some beds that were previously owned that were in great shape. That way everyone could be happy.

While I think that's a very humanitarian thought, it's not feasible because:

1. It would be highly unsanitary and involve a lot of sheet changing, disinfecting, and deter customers from purchasing beds if they appear used and soiled.

2. Someone would have to be there all night to supervise since the people sleeping in the store might not interact well.

3. You'd also have to have a security guard to keep the"sleepers" from possibly stealing or vandalism.

A better idea might be to get the shops selling beds to each donate one or more to your local shelter.

That's a really unique question, It would be impressive if a bed store could provide such a resource to the homeless, but the risks associated with such a service are extremely high and a whole new set of service rules would have to be established to avoid transfer of infectious disease or lice, security of sleeping visitors at night and crowd control for the high influx of those who would seek out their services. I think it would be pretty amazing if bed stores decided to donate beds to homeless shelters. Good idea- perhaps you can look into establishing a service such as the one you described.

No, that would alter the Shops role in society and turn it into a Homeless Shelter, once word got out all hell would break loose. It's a nice liberal thought but totally impractical, that is unless you want accept the responsibility of enforcing your idea to make it work but I have a feeling the the Bed shop would go out of business in an INSTANT!

i dont know. if i say yes, then all shops, not just bed shops should be included so that people without a roof over their head would have a place to sleep.

i say no. it would be difficult to regulate and although its horrible, people in society see homeless people as dirty and nasty. They wouldnt want to shop in shops where the homeless have been. The shops would go out of business. That would be unfair to the shop owners

eww gross not saying that to be rude, but most of those people are filthy from living outside in the first place, and they could have lice, would you want to buy a bed that is dirty and possibly infested? I sure wouldn't, but I don't think it's fair that the goverment helps pay for rehab and doesn't do much for the homeless..

Are you crazy?
That would be nice for the customers. If they see the next morning what's been going on:I would not want to buy ANYTHING from that shop.Gros.
Besides that, how about the security in the shop, hygiene, use of bathroom what do you know about these people
I see more cons then pros here.
Get robbed?
Sky
Let them go to official shelters.

No, cos it's kinda inhygienic & no one would buy the beds. They should tell the government to build a home with beds for the homeless.
