My girlfriend's period was due on the 5th of this month. It's the 14th and she still hasn't gotten her period. We got the "First Response" pregnancy strip and tested yesterday, and it turned out to be negative. So that means she isn't pregnant. But if she isn't pregnant, why didn't she get her period? She's not overweight.

Her period was due on the 5th, and we waited until the 12th for it, and when she didn't get it, we got a pregnancy test strip pack, and used one, and it turned out to be negative. But it's the 14th now, and she still hasn't gotten her period. I don't think weight is a problem because she's not even near being heavy.

She's 18 and I'm 19 and we've been having sex regularly for the last 4 months. She's been getting her period a little late every time for the last 2/3 months, but until last month she's been getting her period regularly for 6/7 months. Before she used to have irregular periods all the time because of hormone problems.

Is your girlfriend stressed about anything? When I am really stressed, whether I conciously know it or not, I will skip my period for a month. There have been a couple times I had thought I might be pregnant after a stress skipped period, but my tests came back negative. Is she on the pill? if she was irregular before the pill could make her regular and if she missed a pill or isn't take them right it could make her be a little irregular again, and make it a higher chance of getting pregnant. If you are really worred then buy another test and do it first thing in the morning, or better yet just make a doc appointment.

Stress?Diet? Often, these two will cause a disruption in the cycle, especially if she's not eating enough proteins. Wait another week, and test again. If still no cycle and negative results, she might see her dr.. good luck...hope it turns out the way you and she want.

Nothing to worry, pregnancy test is correct. Delay in periods are very common in girls, in early stages after attaining puberty. Lack of blood in body also causes delayed periods, if it is so ask her to take Iron tablets, in consultation with a Doctor. One of my Aunt use to have period once in 8-9 months. Disorder came to normal after she had her first baby.

She should test first thing in the morning. If it is still negative she should probably go to th doctor so they can discuss other causes for her missing period.

My test kept coming out negative and I was pregnant. So to be sure she should go to Planned Parenthood if she doesnt have insurance. Or go to her Dr and have them check. Some girls body don't produce enough HCG or it could be an eptopic pregnancy.
Or it could just be stress....LOL. Good luck!!
