Forward them to; spoof@paypal.com then throw them away. Never open mail from paypal. Login directly through a new window.

This is a good example of what's known as phishing. Would-be thieves send out millions of these emails, hoping that they will chance on someone who does have a Paypal account and is stupid enough to follow the link the thieves send, then input their paypal details. This is nothing to do with paypal but sends all your account info straight to the thieves, who then have your paypal password, and they can start stealing your money.

A "phishing" email might not pretend to be from paypal or ebay another time, it might be pretending to be from your actual bank, - so watch out for these fakes. A good way of telling if it is a fake: hold your mouse over the email link they give you (but DO NOT click). The link might say "info@mybank.com" or whatever, but if you look at the toolbar on the bottom left of your PC, you will see that it it is a different name. That is the hackers' website. Forward the phishing email to paypal, the bank or wherever - making sure the headers are exposed, which is very important - and delete the original.

First contact paypal and inform them that they are mistaken about you having a account. You can't use paypal unless they have a credit card or such from you. Better check your cards.
