Well, she falls into a coma at the end of season four (after giving birth to Jasmine), and for most of season 5, she's just "in hospital, in a coma".
In the hundredth episode of Angel, they get a call she's woken up. Angel and Wesley got to pick her up from the hospital, and she's her usual perky, sassy self - not at all like a person who's been in a coma for months.
During the episode, she helps them fight (against Lesley, the guy whose hand Angel chopped of in season1, who has a nefarious plan how to get back to all of them, and Wolfra&Hart in general), and, more importantly, reminds Angel of his purpose - not to make dirty deals and shade-of-grey compromises, but to fight the good fight, and stand up against evil. They were all in danger of being corrupted by Wolfram&Hart, but she stops this (in a very moving scene, she watches and old video of Doyle, thereby reminding Angel of his beginnings in L.A.).
Just when Angel finally "gets it" and they kiss, he gets a phone call. It's the hospital, telling him that Cordelia has died. He starts to protest, saying, "She's right here," but as he turns around, she's disappeared.
Her last job on Earth was getting them back on track, and now she's moved on to where ever it is one moves on to.
(Charisma Carpenter herself moved on to being a recurring character on "Charmed", btw - "the Seer".)

when she came back from being a higher being she was kinda possessed by something she had a thing with Conner and gave birth to one of the "powers that be" and then went in to a kind of coma. After Angel took over wolfram and heart she kinda came out of the coma for one ep. and then died. She kissed Angel then he got a phone call from the hospital telling him that she had just died. the show put her in a coma so that Charisma could go on maternity leave.

wow..that was long ago...I think she died...man. I used to watch Angel and I can't remember what happened to her. I do remember her getting pregnant by Angel's son. The show went downhill when she left the show. I pretty much stopped watching it when she left. But then Spike joined in season 6 and I started up again. Hope someone is able to help you answer the question

didn't she turn evil and have a strange relationship with that bratty connor?
I loved the Show Angel but i couldn't stand the adult version of connor he always acted like an *** hole towards his dad
he refused to believe Angel when he told connor that, that one guy stole connor as a baby away from angel and took him to another world and raised him there and that, that guy was not his father but Angel was Connor never excepted that what a jerk off
but yeah back to Charisma

I used to love the Carpenters and what a tragic thank you to flow. I even have watched the action picture "The Carpenters tale" many circumstances. She did have a captivating, distinctive voice and confident i've got faith so too.
