There isnt a way to really clean it.
Your best bet is to just get it replaced.

I own a shop, and I can tell you this; There really isn't any way to clean them that will work out. Have you ever seen the inside of one? They are millions of tiny honey comb shaped holes that go through the converter. They are so tiny that light can't hardly go through them. These tiny ports are plated with Platinum, and anything oily will stick to them like glue. After a while they just clog up so bad that light itself can't go through them. If one could figure out a way to clean them back to a new like state, you could get rich selling your idea.
Glad to help out, Good Luck!!!

No, sorry you must replace it as Frank said.
Shop around get price of part and install, you should find a shop that has a decent price.
Unfortunately Cat Converters can be expensive.
Best wishes.
