I don't think it serves much purpose to suspend someone. No one gets it. I have been in 7th grade all week with kids. I am a substitute teacher. I wouldn't have even thought of doing half of what these kids do. I have been called every name under the sun. These kids think they are being adult. I finally got to the point that I ignored them. Seems like the next generation is going to be working at Wal Mart and McDonalds and on welfare. Good luck to them! School is important regardless!

I agree I work in the school system and it doesn't seem like suspension is even a punishment. I mean the kids get a vacation. But in some cases it's good because if they assault another student then at least that student will be safe for a couple of days. I am all for just calling the school police and having kids 10 and above arrested. The heck with this slap on the wrist suspension.

I think kids should be suspended first, to get them out of the classroom and second, to give them time to think about what they did. Some will think and come back and do right, but not many. Anyway, if they don't care, it gets them out of the way for a while.

There are some that want to learn and make something of themselves and the ones that are lazy , dumb, or have some mental problem will cause problems for them. In other words, let the kids that want to learn have a better environment to learn in,, and let the others fall through the cracks. We need someone to flip burgers,, the drop outs can at least do that.

Yep, it is one of those strange habits we have. Trouble is compulsoly education age has been rising and rising creating more people who don't want to be at school having to stay there.

Let them stay away and everyone is happy, them, the kids who want to be at school and the teachers- everyone but the parents!!!

i think that they do that so that the kids who are suspended miss work and have to make it up and then theyll get bad grades and they're parents will ground them

Good question.......I think the idea is too get rid of the person who doesn't want to be there so the people who do want to be there can learn.
