does anyone remember the german show called the 'pappenheimer'?? what happened to it & is it aired currently?

there was this old man in it who used to live in a caravan and go around the world...
it was kind of a mix german and english programme

I remember watching it in school. An educational program meant to teach us german I guess. Sorry I can't tell you more.
