No - impossible - we can't even predict what it's going to be like in the next 20!

As for advancement - well stone tools allowed for the develpoment of other technologies, such as mining and hunting and farming - that was probably a bigger leap than we've had in recent years! Sure we've got a lot more 'stuff' but it's only really improvements on existing technologies. It's just how those improvements are integrated into society, 100 years ago telecommunications and computers existed - there was just no way of knowing how they were to come to be integrated into our daily lifes - in fact the head of IBM stated that there was probably a world market for around 5 computers…

The main change in technology has just been that it's gotten smaller and faster.

There are so many variables that a prediction that far in advance would not be possible.
The last 100 years has advanced logarithmically and you wonder if it could be maintained much more than a couple of hundred years.
Technological societies like ours[and other alien societies] may be very short lived, maybe on the order of less than 500 years.

Not really, at least not with any degree of precision. And it's not only technological change that has to be considered, most change has happened in culture and society, much of it not even remotely anticipated, like woman's liberation, anti-slavery, the end of the monarchies, etc.

Just realize that no one saw the collapse of the Soviet Union until almost the moment when it happened. No one anticipated the internet, or the pervasiveness of computers. Who knows what else can change next year, let alone 300?

Well I think Al Gore knows the truth. Most or all animals on the planet will be extinct because we are ruining all the ecosystems with our trash and fossil fuel emissions. We may time travel to an even more distant future where the Earth has made itself well again.

You can predict what the future will be for ANY time in the future, unless of course you are bothered by not having the slightest chance of being right.
