Part of the aging process invloves some sense of insecurity. Imagine that you are no longer strong and as able bodied as you once were, and that you have lost memories, loved ones, and may be facing grave illness. Then imagine all these young, happy, and healthy folks whizzing around at a dizzying pace. YOur awarness is shot, and you are easily frightened. - And, because you are old, you are keenly aware that things arent going to get much better for you. Combine all that with the fact that you might not even notice how you give the younguns dirty looks. Aging is tough, and we need to remember how f-ing harsh that reality is. Next time some old codger gives you a scoul. Smile and say " good afternoon" you might make someones day.

We all have a tendency to spend too much time living in our own World without having a greater awareness or appreciation of what is going on around us. We all have to Battle with Good Sense v's Selfish Self Interest.
We should spend more time concentrating on reasoned thought and actions that allow us to appreciate and view things from a different perspective.

Do they? I'm an older person, 75, and I assume you are referring to drivers who stop to allow you ,with perhaps children, to cross in front of them.I can only speak for myself but as I am retired and time is my own I generally am not in a tearing hurry to get anywhere particularly quickly. In fact I often stop to let people Cross ,especially children, even if its not always at a pedestrian crossing. Please don't lump all us old one's as being as ill mannered as some might be..

Being old I suspect all young people of being murdering, drug taking, bad tempered, foul mouthed delinquents who I know all attend some strange satanic international covern called The Web, that lies in a strange place called the Internet, where they they worship a creature called the mouse

So you are walking along and don't let some old person go before you when your paths intersect? Is that your question?
If it is, its because you are being rude. You should stop for your elders when your paths intersect- one of you must stop or slow for the other and it should be the younger of the two.
