I couldnt agree more. About the morals.. Alot of people didnt grow up around certain things or people, or been in situations that make people feel a certain way and people who are too bible bound automatically think its wrong to feel a certain way. And they open their mouth too quick and dont look at why somebody else feels something is right compared to the overly religous who feels that its wrong.

No I'm in agreement and then some I just thank goodness that the justice system will prosecute offenses that religion find alright .EG the pedophile priests , or the bible that supports slavery , or the stoning of gays . these unethical or criminal proclivities are sometimes religiously moral but not legally ethical . I'm an atheist amoung other things but my morals are far better than what I find from religions with maybe the exception of some Buddhists and a feew more kindly put small religions like the wiccas. the major theistic
religions are horrible and many of their followers are the ones that contribute to the worlds greatest problems . If there were a god I don't think he would be hateful and mean spirited as the gods of the major religions . I hope I haven't crossed your restrictions . peace to you ....

using, your logic,i could punch you and just say 'i didn't do anything wrong, those are my morals".another point is,if morals are subjective, then why are the worlds basic laws all so similar.murder and cowards are frowned upon everywhere.
your other points about Adam ,eve, the serpent, etc, can be defeated.the story of Adam and eve is an allegory,so that destroys that
as fore women being "complimentary" for men, your looking at it the wrong way.along with this men must be merciful and willing to die for their wives.also, this does not mean"i crumble under your will" it means "you have the final say and if no one had the final say ,arguments would never end".final say dose not mean "you must obey me" it is that men are the head of the house.woman can still retaliate or disobey, like a solider can rebel against an unjust commander,or disobey an unreasonable request.woman only have to obey men when what they are saying is just.
following the bible is not a leap in the dark,it is a leap in the light.their is lots of evidence to support it.if you look at the subject unbiasedly, you will see some of it.
with all of that out of the way,why shouldn't Christians think their morals are corret.[ps.emali me for a more in depth argument]

Y0ou are missing the point of it all. Yes morals differ from group to group. There are some basic facts that do transend all groups. To get along with each other we do have to have a set of rules. Morals are not something given to man by a god. Morals are what man determins is needed to be able to live in groups. Religion only uses these for its own benefit.
Morals do not have to be taught by others. Morals are learned through interacting with others. What is written will not be what all believe.
If us older people think the morals of the young are bad and harmful then remember we are the ones that set the wxample. We are the ones that were the teachers.

Are you being funny?
A person who has the hobby of playing golf usually does so because HE LIKES IT.
Why would anyone be doing anything they didn't believe in or they didn't enjoy? (I am not talking about work, dishes and such)
Do you yourself?
Let's say you really hate bicycling. Unless someone paid you so much money or otherwise made it worthwhile to you, would you go cross country on a bicycle? I don't think so.
In the same manner Christians know in their hearts that the moral values taught in the Holy Scriptures are in full agreement with their being. Thus they believe that these morals are the correct ones.
Not only that, but like most people they can usually add one + one. In this way, they have affirmation when in their lives they practice these morals - they see the GOOD results that come from doing so..

You believe in relativity? No Absolutes? Why does this question only pertain to Christians? Morals cannot be subjective with the existence of logic. read this... no bible verses. If someone finds truth in a Bible than relativity says that it is right because all is right and nothing is wrong.

I guess it is good that you are at least searching for truth! I hope that it is revealed to you :)

By not mentioning other groups or religions sets of morals, you are clearly demonstrating your hate and intolerance of Christians.
There are dozens of Christian faiths....to which one are you referring? What you are saying makes no sense whatsoever.
It seems as though you are blindly following your bigotry, intolerance and hatred to judge those who may not think like you. Some Christians may have their own sets of morals, and they are entitled to them. How about Bhuddists, Muslims, Jews, or Pagans? Do they not have their own sets of beliefs that they believe is right? By not mentioning them you clearly display your hate.
By stating 'there are no definitive rights and wrongs. morality is a concept that exists within the beholders subjective ideals. its simply not objective' you state your own beliefs. You are entitled to believe as you see fit. By judging others your intolerance and bigotry toward the beliefs of others is obvious.

if you dont want to bring in evidence in the bible then you really are not seeking an answer to your question. Yahoo answer can only give their opinon but that book you are trying to pick apart and make out to be out of your standards and understanding will explain to you who, what when, and why. We as humans tend to want to disagree or have unbeliefs of things that are suppose to help us just so that our concious dont bother us from doing what we want to do as if we were put here on earth without rules. The creator uses others so that we can be guided in this life (you gotta believe that) it happens everyday, so he used that person who wrote that book to guide us. Thats what i believe. It would be unfair to us to leave us here lost without nothing to research to help us get through pain, suicide depression etc. I dont consider myself a christian because i dont know what a christian is ( i heard what the world say a christian is suppose to be) but i do consider myself a believer from personal experience. That book isn't hurting noone unless you allow it to by thinking too hard on it. Roll with the punches and live the best life you can.

I am an atheist, so I am not going to quote the bible. I agree with you completely, how can one set of morals from one religion more more correct than the morals from another.
I actually think that the Pagans have it right. Do what ye will, but harm ye none.

Evidently you are not looking for an answer, as your last sentence implies.
If I can make an arguement on religion it is because I can challenge the knowledge of man against the written word. And do you think science or the laws of man are going to get off so easy? Just my opinion.
