being a war vet with health problems or mental health issues
millions of people in america are a paycheck away from being on the street. it's messed up.

Most of them have mental disorders. These disorders can lead to drug and alcohol problems. This leads to loss of jobs, houses, families etc. Usually if you have debilitating health issues as well, but if you still have good brain function you can usually find a way out of being homeless. So mostly its a mental health issue.
