Why people in general not understands that Bollywood star and cricket star are normal human beings too. Since the audio-visual media highlights their work, they seem to represent a larger-than-life image of theirs and the general public starts treating them like demi-gods. Otherwise, they are simple human beings and eat, sleep, go to toilets like a common man. People should enjoy and rate their work on screen/fields as good or bad but should not make them gods. There are such crazy fans that they would go upto airports to receive them or see them off or will travel long distance to have a glimpse of them which is simply ridiculous.

Yes this is the biggest problem. Our guys (especially) new comers have to just give one good performance and immly they are signed up for latest ads and the media and public give them such a hype and importance that they lose their focus. Look at Dhoni, pathan and so many others who started well and fizzed off

YA OUR INDIAN CRICKETERS ARE SUFFERING FROM STAR STATUS BUT IT ISN'T THEIR FAULT AT ALL, ITS A HUMAN TENDENCY.
IN MY VIEW THIS IS DUE TO MEDIA HYPE AND OVER CRAZINESS OF US INDIANS.WE ARE TREATING THEM AS GOD WHICH IS A JUST OUR MADNESS NOTHING ELSE. SO, WE ALL HAVE TO FACE THE TRUTH AND WE HAVE TO CHANGE OUR OWN MIND SET. IF WE WANT TO BE AHEAD NOT JUST IN CRICKET BUT IN EACH AREA.

Of course they do. And a misplaced one at that. There is hardly an Indian cricketer with his feet on the ground.
